The Bogotá International Book Fair (FILBo) returns in 2025 with an unforgettable literary and cultural offering. From April 25 to May 11, Corferias will become the meeting point for over 500 writers, illustrators, and editors from 26 countries to engage, learn, and share their talent under the central theme “The Words of the Body,” which reflects on how we experience, understand, and navigate bodily changes throughout life.

A Space for All Ages

This year, FILBo opens its doors to children and young adults with a special program exploring how the youngest generations face and feel bodily changes. Renowned authors of children's and young adult literature, including Issa Watanabe (Peru), Marc Majewski (France), and Tess Sharpe (United States), will address topics such as identity, gender, migration, uprooting, and physical and emotional transformation.

Highlighted activities include:

April 26: Peruvian illustrator Issa Watanabe, recipient of the Bologna Ragazzi Award, will discuss migration and uprooting in “Shared Borders” alongside Ecuadorian Roger Ycaza and Colombian Santiago Guevara. (Gran Salón F, 5:30 p.m.)

May 3: Mexican poet Ana Romero and Colombian Catalina Navas will reflect on gender stereotypes in the talk “Stories for Growing Up.” (Auditorium of the LEO Pavilion, Siento Bogotá, 7:00 p.m.)

May 4: French author Marc Majewski will lead the workshop “How Good Wolves Are,” exploring the intersections of anatomy and nature. (FILBo LIJ Room, 11:30 a.m.)

May 1: Canadian Matthew Forsythe, lead designer of Adventure Time, will hold a workshop on visual storytelling and self-esteem for children. (FILBo LIJ Room, 11:30 a.m.)

Spain, Guest Country of Honor

This edition welcomes Spain as the Guest Country of Honor with the theme “The Words of the Body,” featuring distinguished authors like Rosa Montero and Andrés Neuman, who will delve into topics of identity, memory, and resilience through their literary works.

More than 2,300 Activities

FILBo 2025 will include panel discussions, writing workshops, book launches, autograph signings, and live music and gastronomy events. The fair offers a vibrant space for all audiences, with activities designed to deepen their connection to literature.
