Six Months into Trump’s 2025 Presidency: Balance Sheet, Reactions, and Expectations.
Washington D.C., July 20, 2025 — Half a year into his return to the White House, President Donald J. Trump has made it clear that his second term is not a rerun of the first, but rather an acceleration of his political agenda. With a combative style and a flurry of executive actions, Trump has solidified what his allies call “America’s new golden age.”
Full Throttle from Day One
Since his inauguration in January, Trump has signed over 170 executive orders, dismantling inherited regulations, sealing the southern border, and eliminating federal programs tied to diversity and inclusion. His administration has ramped up deportations to record levels and promoted a “self-deportation” policy that the White House calls “a massive success.”
On the economic front, the administration boasts controlled inflation (2.1%), historically low gas prices, and job growth concentrated among U.S.-born workers. Trade deals with the UK, China, and Indonesia have been inked, and over $7.6 trillion in foreign investment has flowed into the country.
Divided Opinions
According to Pew Research, the nation remains deeply polarized: 47% approve of Trump’s performance, while 51% disapprove. Among Republicans, support is overwhelming (84%), while only 10% of Democrats express approval.
Controversial moves include mass pardons for those convicted in the January 6 Capitol riot, sparking backlash even within the GOP. His push to eliminate gender-affirming care for minors and ban transgender athletes from women’s sports has ignited fierce national debate.
Foreign Policy and Global Standing
Trump has brokered ceasefires between India and Pakistan, and between Israel and Iran. He also secured a NATO agreement for member nations to raise defense spending to 5% of GDP—an achievement long deemed impossible
What Lies Ahead?
Six months in, Trump’s presidency is defined by speed, boldness, and an unapologetic approach. His supporters hail the “restoration of American greatness,” while critics warn of democratic erosion and rising political tension.
With three Nobel Peace Prize nominations, record-breaking markets, and a mobilized base, Trump seems intent on leaving an indelible mark. But with the country split, the true test may be whether his ambitious agenda can coexist with institutional stability.
