TOMORROWLAND IN FLAMES: MASSIVE FIRE DEVOURS MAIN STAGE DAYS BEFORE FESTIVAL KICKOFF

Boom, Belgium — July 16, 2025. Just two days before the grand opening of Tomorrowland, one of the world’s most iconic electronic music festivals, a massive fire has engulfed and destroyed the majority of its main stage, sending shockwaves through the global EDM community.

The blaze that silenced the spectacle The fire broke out during pyrotechnic testing at the De Schorre venue in Boom, Belgium. Within minutes, flames consumed the towering ice-themed structure designed for the 2025 edition, titled “Orbyz: Discover the Hidden Community.” The left side of the stage was the ignition point, and the inferno quickly reduced the elaborate fantasy set to charred metal frames

Swift evacuation and emergency response Approximately 1,000 crew members were on-site at the time but were safely evacuated. No injuries have been reported. Local authorities deployed emergency teams and urged nearby residents to close windows and doors due to toxic smoke.

Festival fate hangs in the balance Tomorrowland was set to welcome over 800,000 attendees across two weekends, featuring global superstars like Martin Garrix, David Guetta, Swedish House Mafia, and Charlotte de Witte. Organizers have confirmed that the festival will proceed, but the future of the main stage remains uncertain. A rapid rebuild or alternative setup is being considered.

Symbolic and logistical blow The main stage is not just a visual centerpiece—it’s the soul of Tomorrowland’s storytelling. Its destruction is a major setback for the production team, who had crafted a magical frozen world with red crystals and glacial landscapes.

The music will go on Despite the devastation, DreamVille camping and satellite events in Brussels and Antwerp will continue as planned. The Tomorrowland team is working tirelessly to ensure the festival retains its signature magic—even without its iconic main stage.
